Starting out as a qualified carpenter, Joe has accumulated over 30 years’ worth of experience in the construction industry.
He made a successful career change from “on the tools” carpentry to become a qualified teacher before moving on to senior management roles.
Over the years he has successfully led many projects and teams, drawing on in-depth and varied experience. Possessing the ability to work well with people at all levels, Joe has accrued a large number of credible achievements.
He is experienced in planning, implementing, improving, and managing construction training initiatives, as well as overseeing the implementation of government funded employability contracts.
In February 2014, Joe submitted evidence and shared his experiences with a Parliamentary inquiry on how to get more young people into construction. There, he spoke out against “box ticking” policies by training providers that “may not serve the apprentice well”. He reiterated his goals of making sure “the apprentice receives a decent training wage as well as good support”.

Joel is an honours graduate in Information Technology & Networking, who shone at his interview; like many graduates Joel had been working in entry level jobs which did not reflect his capabilities.
Joel provides the rest of the team with strong HR administrative support. Office based, Joel links the various strands of our operations; as the rest of us are often off site with our clients, apprentices, training providers, etc. Joel liaises with apprentices, on a daily basis; he is part of the initial induction team, processes time sheets and manages payroll. Joel also maintains the JBT information system and is the solid foundation for our business operations.
