Eny arrived in the Uk from Iran back in 1970. For 38 years he worked at Heathrow Airport, but he had always wanted to work in construction. He took evening classes in plumbing and engineering, before deciding to specialise in electrical installation.
Hendri came to JBT seeking a construction apprenticeship shortly after completing his Level 3 in Electrical Installation. Following a successful interview, JBT provided him with a full set of hand tools and full PPE.
Johirul was introduced to JBT through Southwark Works. He had secured a Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installation, which he had self-funded by installing safety equipment into residential homes for the NHS.
Max was 27 years old when first referred to JBT in June 2023. He was referred by his tutor at West London College, where he was working towards his Diploma Level 2 in Carpentry.

You can apply for apprenticeships across a wide range of trades including bricklaying, carpentry, painting and decorating, plumbing, electrical work, and general site labouring.
You don’t need on-site experience, but you must have passed your CSCS test and ideally be in the second year (or have completed) a construction-related college course.
Yes, all JBT apprentices are paid above minimum wage. You’ll also receive a full toolkit, PPE, and subsidised travel support.

A CSCS card proves you’ve passed the health and safety requirements to work on a UK construction site. You must pass the test and have your card to be placed.
No. JBT will enrol you with an accredited training provider and coordinate your on-site and off-site learning throughout the apprenticeship.
We prioritise applicants in London and nearby boroughs, as our placements are tied to local council requirements. But if you’re close by and available, we’ll consider your application.
