Johirul was introduced to JBT through Southwark Works. He had secured a Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installation, which he had self-funded by installing safety equipment into residential homes for the NHS.
Johirul’s dedication came across in his interviews with JBT and The Hill Group. He was offered the opportunity to work on the Aylesbury Estate Project with R.B. Emersons. JBT provided him with a full set of hand tools, PPE, and accompanied him to site on his first day.
Within a week, Johirul had already impressed Emerson with his attitude and was thoroughly enjoying the work.
JBT arranged Johirul to attend M.I.T Skills, a training provider in West ByFleet. This was funded by Workwhile. MIT arranged an assessment called “A Day in the Bay to ascertain knowledge and experience. Shortly after this event, the Peabody Trust were interested in funding Johiru’s apprenticeship.
Throughout his apprenticeship, Johirul was praised by his manager for his ability to perform new tasks, and a willingness to ask questions.
By the end of 2024, Johirul’s had finished his apprenticeship with JBT. However, he continues to work on-site with Emersons.
